Click on the three dots (ellipsis) next to the course name. Select unpublish from the options menu. This image is then displayed on the course card for you and your students on the canvas dashboard. If this doesn't work for you, please come back and let us know, but this should be the solution.

You Can Only Favorite Active Courses.

Favorited courses are courses you have starred. The unfavorite option only displays if. Your canvas dashboard displays both active and favorited courses. Go to your dashboard in canvas.
