Omsa Course - Is it a good idea to take simulation and intro to analytical modeling, both during summer? I fully expect that to improve as time goes on. Dva, business data analytics, deterministic optimization, simulation, cda 6740, bayesian statistics, regression analysis. And with fewer alumni, their choices are more constrained. I am struggling to decide which course(s) to take next. Depending on the environment you're going into, could be extremely valuable. The 5 required courses for omsa are terrible, worse than anything offered in omscs. The tas are noticeably worse, mostly on account of experience. It is also a great review of linear algebra in case you're rusty on that and want a few extra homework problems to help you catch up. Even hours spent on the course (with a note if they were actually measured or are just i feel i spent 2 hours per week) is a better criteria. 3 Foundational Core Courses, The 2 Core Advanced Courses:

I Think Regression Probably Isn't Necessary For This Program Unless You Really Need A Deep Dive Into How Linear Models Work, And Even Then, Between Mgt6203 And Intro To Analytics, You'll Get Enough To Use.

I started omsa in spring 2023. As the homeworks are in the form of reports, they’re a great way to practice your written communication of results and working through the analytical process for assignments. It is also a great review of linear algebra in case you're rusty on that and want a few extra homework problems to help you catch up.
